Romeo & Juliet

Well, I'm Hoping that by posting my second travesty, it will get the ball rolling a bit more. Anyway here's my rendition of Dire Straits-Romeo and Juliet. Once again, poor light and sound but digital cameras weren't really made for video. It's a little sketchy in the third verse as well as a few other spots but eh. A fairly challenging pic by Sav, yet it was a fun one to learn. I know this is on the "Making Movies" album, but I can remember getting "Brothers in Arms" on vinyl way back in 1985 while in Florida when I was about 10 years old. Sucks I no longer have it. I Always dug Mark Knopfler stuff. Just a quick side story. Anyway, Enjoy.

The Sav Pick...

As you can see from the list to the right......>>>>
Sav is the next picker... and he is going with
"Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits....
Certainly is a bit more of a challenge than Dixie.... but should be good!
Rock on!

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

A good pick by WT to start things off. Been a busy past few weeks, so I knocked this one out quick like. Kinda rough but I gave it the old college try. Strings are shot and beer never helps the voice. Not making any excuses, just...well it is what it is. No winter hat needed, my house is at 70 Degrees (-5 has gotta suck in doors, and why is it -5 when you have a wood stove??) Sorry about the lighting/sound. I capo'd it up a few steps. Was gonna do it at the fifth but couldn't sing to it, so I did it at the third, like it's any better, oh well - Enjoy

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - The Band

Alright... So I've dingwopped my version here because I couldn't find my SD card... and I had to do two takes to get the whole song... so I apologize for that.... anyway...
I always thought this was a great song... sad but captured the ordinary southern man's life during the Civil War...
but I also thought the Band, especially the Last Waltz version, was a bit too garnished if ya know what I mean... I always thought this would be a much more dramatic tune if stripped down, slowed down and injected with a bit more "Virgil Cane-ness"... do you dig it??
Oh, and I'm having some winter neck/fret issues with the Martin... you'll hear the buzz here and there... needs a tune up at the shop for sure... please excuse that and the dog bark or two! And the hat... wearing that just because it's -5 at my house right now....
Anyway... here is my version(s)....
